Ice Fishing Coming to an End – Game Fish Opening Dates

We had an unexpectedly short winter compared to the norm!  Ice fishing has been good, but with the warmer weather that arrived, the ice fishermen started to hang up their poles and Vexilars!  Now this past week, we’ve had some colder weather with  snowstorm predicted for March 23 and 24.  There are a few die hards out there again fishing, but the season is wrapping up and the game fish season is over.

We are gearing up for the game fish opener on May 15 for walleye, musky, and northern.  Bass season opens on May 28th this year.  Pan fish are in season year round.  If you are coming up for the Wisconsin opener which is a couple weeks before Michigan opens, remember we are on the Cisco Chain which border Wisconsin and Michigan.  We have great homes at super discount rates at that time!  You can stay here and still fish the Wisconsin side of the Chain.  Just don’t stop and fish on the Michigan side with your catch of game fish from the Wisconsin side!  Make sure to bring them back to your accommodations first and then go back pan fishing in Michigan.

Our calendars have been updated today for the 2016 reservations.  It’s a great time to make reservations while there are still openings.  If your dates don’t appear open, please call me at 906-358-4390 or my cell 715-360-6650 (or text) to make sure that no changes have occurred.  Things can change quickly, so it’s always safest to call for openings.

Thank you for visiting our site.  We hope to see you soon!
