Snowmobile, Cross-Country Ski, and Fishing Report as of January 5, 2017

Happy New Year to All!

The U. P. Thunder Riders of Watersmeet are now reporting a 12″ base on the snowmobile trails.  All trails are being groomed daily and are in good shape including Trail 3 North, Trail 3 South to Land O’ Lakes, Trail 2 East and West, and Trail 13 South.  There are a few thin spots and some icy spots, but the sledders we have talked to have said all the trails are in “pretty good” shape and they are pleased with their riding here.

We have really cold temperatures through the weekend, so please be sure you don’t let any areas of your body exposed.  Snows continue regularly.  We are still waiting for that dumper of heavy snow that will get us up to excellent trails, but we are getting there without it.

We still have plenty of availability for this winter in great homes with plenty of parking.  Markers are out on the Chain now, but we still recommend staying right on the trails that are snowmobiled.  Also, there is open water under the Lindsley Bridge and in the sandcut heading down to Mamie and Big Lake.  There are markers directing you away from those areas, so please be extra careful in those areas.  If you aren’t up to traversing the lakes, Thousand Island Lake Road is an access trail to both the U. P. Thunder Riders main trail as well as the Land O’ Lakes Frosty Club trails.  Our road is fine and snow covered.  Our county roads including our road are legal to drive on with your snowmobile.  They just ask you to stay to the right.

If you have any questions, want to know what is available, need a snowmobile report, would like brochures or a snowmobile map, just let me know.  We’ll be happy to help in any way.  We have great homes that are very clean and comfortable and have some great amenities.  We’ll be happy to quote you a price for your dates and number of people.  Try a beautiful home on the lake for your next visit and have plenty of spreading room and a place to get your whole group together.  We can be competitive with hotel rates especially when there is a larger group of people.  Just give us a call at 906-358-4390 or text me at 715-360-6650 or email me at visit@thearrowsresort.com.

Thanks so much for visiting.  We hope to help plan your next visit.

P. S.  The cross-country ski trails are in great shape, too.  Sylvania Outfitters has them all groomed or skied and ready for your enjoyment!  And we hear the bluegills and crappie are biting as well if you are interested in ice fishing!
